Extra Rental Cars Sought
Increased passenger traffic through Christchurch International Airport was already putting considerable strain on the Christchurch fleet of Tasman Rental Cars, Ltd, and with the advent of larger jets 30 new cars would be needed to cope with the demand, the No. 9 Transport Licensing Authority (Mr J. M. Dwyer) was told on Thursday. Mr J. K. Laugesen, the Christchurch manager of the company (Mr M. J. Glue), was seeking an amendment to the company’s rental service licence to allow the addition of 30 cars to the fleet. The hearing was adjourned pending an objection to the application from Mutual Rental Cars, Ltd.
