Meat Prices Raised

There has been another increase in the price to the farmer for ewe mutton. Meat companies announce that prices have been raised 1c per lb for ewes up to 641 b and Jc per lb for ewes over that weight The rise is attributed to the increased interest of the Japanese in New Zealand mutton. At the same time skin pay-! rnents on woolly and shorn! lambs have been increased j 10c per head. Reflecting a firming in the market, beef prices to the producer have also been in-! creased. Prime ox, cow and heifer are dearer by SI.SQ per 1001 b, boner bull by $1.50, boner cow, ox and heifer and y.a.q. grades by $1 and overfat cow, ox and heifer by $1.50.
