f.V.Z PA.-Reuter—Copyright J | DURBAN, j Australia swept to 33« for four on the second dav of its match against Natal on Saturday. Centuries by I. Chappel (108) and I. Redpath <118) sparked Australia's return to form after di'mal batting displays in recent matches on their tour. But the innings began at only a crawl when W. Lawry and K. Stackpole resumed at ’fnur for no wicket, chasing Natal's first innings total of 259. Lawry batted 54 minutes for 11 runs before he was caught behind off V. van der Bijl. When Stackpole was out just before lunch for 39. the total had advanced to only 78 for two. Then Chappell and Redpath took the Natal attack apart, sharing a 162-run third wicket stand in 141 minutes. Chappell scorched to his century, his sec ond of the tour, in 137 minutes, and batted 141 minutes for his 198. hitting 17 fours. Redpath s 118 took 278 minutes and included 17 fours. P Sheahan was also in sparkling mood, adding 73 runs. In 59 minutes wrth Redpath for: the fourth wicket. Sheahan was! on 33 and J. Irvine was eight* when play stopped for the dav.
