Woodeud Sewerage
Sir, —The suggestion made by Mr Morris that I should call at the county office for answers to my questions is only dodging the matter. Surely policy decisions on all matters are made by the council, not by the staff. 1 feel 1 am entitled to answers from the chairman or council. If all the people who have been talking about these questions were to call at the office for answers I do not think the staff would see them all. Why can 1 not have simple answers 'to straightforward, questions? This is ratepayers’ business. I see no reason why the information should not be made public through these columns, or is there some reason why this should not be done?—Yours, etc., RURAL RATEPAYER. February 23, 1970. [Mr C. L. Morriss, chairman of the Rangiora County Council, replies: “1 shall be pleased to answer any of your correspondent’s questions in detail, should he write to me or arrange to meet me at the council office.”]
