Riders From Noumea

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) NOUMEA. Eight New Caledonian riders have entered for the Auckland-Wellington Dulux cycling race on November 3. They are J. Clemen, R. Liquet, J. de Maria, A. Lutafu, J. Attneave, J. Sikan, J. Kabar and D. Cornaille. Clemen, Loquet and Cornaille took part in last year’s race. In the 750-mile September trial around New Caledonia. Clemen finished first among the New Caledonians and was ttie winning junior. (D. Watson, of Australia, came first, and the New Zealander, R. D. Thompson second.) De Maria was fourth in the Caledonian trial, Kabar sixth, Sikan seventh, Liquet eighth, Latafu tenth, and Attneave fourteenth. Cornaille won the 1968 New Caledonian tour.
