Friends Of Ferrymead
The Friends of Ferrymead Fraternity will be launched at a public meeting in the lecture theatre of the Canterbury Museum at 8 p.m. on Saturday. October 11. The Mayor of Christchurch (Mr A. R. Guthrey) has been invited to open the programme, which will include addresses on the history and future of Ferrymead. The Friends of Ferrymead Fraternity had been formed to channel the goodwill and interest in Ferrymead and to widen community awareness and contribute in a practical way, said Mr W. J. A. Brittendeh, chairman of the interim committee of the Ferrymead Trust.
