150 IN GRAVE

Near Hue (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SAIGON, Sept. 21. A mass grave containing the bodies of 150 Vietnamese civilians has been found near the former capital of Hue, the United States Command said yesterday. The grave, which was found on Friday, was believed to contain victims of the 1968 Communist Tet offensive, when savage fighting raged at Hue and thousands of people were reported missing. Hundreds. of bodies have already been found in mass graves round Hue. Many of the victims were bound and executed, and some were believed to have been buried alive. The latest discovery was made by troopers of the United States 101st Airborne Division eight miles south of Hue. The grave they found had been partly uncovered by heavy rains. American spokesmen said that South Vietnamese Government authorities were holding an investigation into the latest find.
