SECRETARY REPLACED
Close Aide Of Nasser (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) CAIRO, Sept. 21. A close aide of President Nasser, Mr Aly Sabry, has been replaced in the important post of Secretary of the Organising Committee of the Arab Socialist Union, Egypt’s [only political party. The move came after weeks lof rumours about Mr Sabry's I status. Rumours in Beirut had linked him with a so-called abortive coup. President Nasser, who is chairman of the A.S.U. announced last night that the Minister of the Interior (Mr Sharawy Goinaa) had been appointed secretary of the committee, one of the most important posts of the 150-mein-ber central committee. The semi-official newspaper “Al Ahram” reported today that Mr Sabry bad tendered his resignation from the party, but this had not been accepted and he would continue in the organisation’s higher executive.
