Minimum Meat Prices Unchanged

The minimum prices for export meat in the season ending September 30 next year will be the same as those that have been ruling in the recent export season. The Press Association says that the minimum f.o.b. prices for the basic grades of meat have been announced by the chairman of the Meat Export Prices Committee (Mr P. W. Smallfield) as follows:

Lamb: Prime, 29-361 b, 14c. Wether mutton: Prime, 49561 b, 7.5 c. Ewe mutton: Prime, 49561 b, 5.5 c. Chilled beef: Ox, 6801 b and under, 15c. Ox and heifer quarter beef: Good average quality ox, 6801 b and under, 15c. Quarter cow beef: Good average quality, 6001 b and under, 12c. Boner cow, ox and heifer: All weights, boned out, 18c. Boner bull: 5511 b and over, 18c. Veal: Sides or quarters, under 2801 b, 12c. Porkers: Prime, 601 b to 1001 b, 15c. Baconers: Prime, 1111 b to 1401 b, 15c. The scheme will be administered on the same lines as in previous seasons, each basic grade of meat in the minimum prices schedule be-

ing used as the factor for assessing the deficiency payment applicable to all grades of the relative class of export meat.
