MORE BUSINESS FOR MOTOR HOLDINGS
(New Zealand Press Auoctatton) AUCKLAND, June 18. Motor Holdings, Ltd, Auckland, has signed an agreement with Thiess Holdings, Ltd, a large Brisbane engineering and mining group, for the distribution in New Zealand of Kato hydraulic cranes and excavators.
Thiess has the marketing rights for Australia and New
Zealand for this Japanese equipment. The chairman of Motor Holdings (Mr N. Turner) and the general manager of Thiess’s equipment distributing subsidiary, Mr Doyle, said today that they saw the agreement as the beginning of a potentially large-scale business between the companies.
The Kato heavy equipment will complement the existing range of industrial equipment handled by the Motor Holdings group. Tbiess has widespread interests in civil engineering, distribution of commercial motor vehicles and other equipment, coalmining, mineral exploration and the pastoral industry. It recently concluded a s2l4m coal deal with Japanese steel mills.
