Conference Of W.D.F.F.

The shortage of medical services, especially in country areas, has for some time been of great concern to the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. The Medical Association of New Zealand’s proposals to help alleviate the situation will be explained at the federation’s Dominion conference in Wellington next week, says a recent newsletter. Measures of special interest to women in impending legislation will be discussed by Mrs R. M. Stevenson, member of Parliament for Taupo, and the Minister of Agriculture (Mr Taiboys) will also address the delegates. Lady Porritt, the federation’s patron, will open the conference on Tuesday evening, June 24. A new president will be elected, as will a treasurer, two vice-presidents, and 12 councillors.
