Whaley (Auckland): C. E. Whitehouse (Hamilton) drew with P. M. Daly (Auckland); K. Brannigan (Dannevirke) beat Maiarski (Wellington); F. Costello (New Plymouth) beat H. P. Whitlock (Wanganui); C. Lindsay (Levin) beat R. McKerras (Auckland); R. M. McGregor (Napier) drew with D. Moulin (Christchurch); J. K. Mazur (Wellington) beat A. J. Ratliff (Wanganui): M. Kopytko (Palmerston North) drew with J. J. Troot (Nelson).
