Pedestrian Killed
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 15. A pedestrian died in hospital tonight after being hit by a car in Tasman Street. He was Gordon Ashworth, aged about 40, an employee of Bonds Hosiery Mills, Tasman Street. According to a Press Association message from Invercargill, a man died in Kew Hospital, Invercargill tonight, after being struck by two cars on the north road at 7.15 p.m. He was Robert Stanley Hodges, aged 41, married, of Harvey Street, Waikiwi.
