Ashe Loses To Santana

The former Wimbledon champion, Santana (Spain), beat the American, A. Ashe, in a gruelling four-set battle to take the men’s singles title in the international tennis tournament in Madrid on .Sunday.
In a tense match which lasted three hours, Santana dropped the long first set but recovered to win, 9-11, 64, 8-6, 6-1. Ashe and his countryman, C. Pasarell, beat Santana and M. Orantes, 7-5, 3-6, 7-5, 5-7, 6-0, in the men’s doubles final on Saturday. , -
