SHOOTER DIES
Recovery Of Body

NELSON, May 12.
Golden Bay Search and Rescue Organisation members and some other residents were called by Constable E. J. Baxter, of (he Takaka police, at 2 p.m. yesterday to recover the body of a shooter who had collapsed and died in rugged country west of the Pupu Springs, at Takaka. near midday yesterday. The dead man was Alexander McGuire, married, with two children, of Kotinga, Takaka.
Mr McGuire and a companion, Mr E. R. T. Page, were traversing very difficult country when Mr Page heard a call and a moan from the deceased man. He found Mr McGuire, apparently dead. He made his way to the nearest farmhouse and telephoned for , assistance. The party returned with the body, which was recovered with considerable difficulty in failing light and rough terrain, about 6.30 p.m.
