Youngsters Star In Table Tennis

Although they were beaten In the final, the young pairing of T. Fraser and Miss M. Green provided the highlights I in the open doubles at an In- I vitatlon table tennis tourna- 1 meet held In Christchurch yesterday. Both in their early teens, they constantly outplayed their opposition with skilful chopping , and placing until they were subdued In the last two sets of the final by the hard-hitting combination of A. Rutledge and j D. Bellow, j L. Vallance did not have 1 everything his own way before ■ he won through to beat B. .1. I Edwards In the finals of the ■ singles, but his consistent pcr- ■ formance proved to be too i strong for his challengers. He (was pressed in several encounters. but did not lose a game, beating E.
