Hillis Team At Cambridge
"Th. Press" Special Service CAMBRIDGE. Training at Cambridge yesterday was enlivened by the presence of the southern horses, Eiffel Tower and Ettrick, which are quartered here for the early stages of their northern campaign. Working 12 feet out on the course proper, which was cutting out. Ettrick (Weaver) led Eifel Tower (Hillis) by about two lengths in the middle stages as they galloped a mile and a quarter comfortably in 2.17. They were on terms at the finish after speeding up the last five furlongs in 1:7 and the last three in 40 3-5. Hillis will ride Eiffel Tower in the Vercoe Steeples and Weaver will be on Ettrick. Both horses are also nominated for the Waikato Steeplechase a week later. So is the stablemate. Mosque. Kora] is the fourth member of the team. The horses have settled in to the satisfaction of their trainer.
