New Courts Opened
Cr H. C. Blazey officially opened the two new courts at the Christchurch Squash Backets Club last evening. Mr Blazey expressed his admiration for the progress of the club over the last 10 years.
- ’Not only has the club more than doubled its assets over this period but It has achieved this without calling on outside assistance,” he said. The club president, Mr R. D. Mota, said that the present £J„ te " slons . costing more than 322,000, would bring the total value of the club's buildings to more than 160,000. Mr J. H. N. Pine, the Canterbury Squash Rackets Association president, said that the progress of the game in the district was almost entirely due to the initiative of the administrators of the Christchurch club over the last 10 years. ..That there are now over 2000 registered squash players and 54 inter-club teams may be directly attributed to the help and leadership of the Christchurch club," he added.
