Bunratty Castle Retired

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE. Bunratty Castle, winner of the 1968 Caulfield Cup and one of Australia's top gallopers, has been retired. This was announced by his owner, Mr G. Stott, who said the English-bred horse would stand stud at Melbourne next season. The decision to retire Bun. ratty Castle was made after a training gallop. Mr Stott's trainer advised that the horse would not be at top for the for the Alister Clark Stakes, at Moonee Valley on Saturday. There were no other suitable races in Melbourne in the near future, and a trip to Sydney was ruled out. Bunratty Castle, a five-year, old. won six races in Australia and was placed 13 times for $45,072 in stakes.
