NAVIGATION LIGHT

Tankers’ Need For Study (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Feb. 23. Three Government officials will visit the Three Kings Islands off North Cape this week to see if a special navigation light for oil tankers can be erected there. The nautical adviser for the Marine Deparment, (Captain T. H. Boyack), the department's plant maintenance officer (Mr W. Tate), and the district electrical engineer for the Ministry of Works in Auckland (Mr J. K. Gladwell), will leave Auckland tomorrow in the survey ship H.M.N.Z.S. Lachlan. Captain Boyack said tonight that such a light would help ensure no Torrey Canyon-type disasters occurred off the Northland coast.
