Run Rabbit
Sir, —The firemen rescuing the young rabbit after its terrible ordeal by fire and water renew one’s faith in humanity. Saint Goderick of the gentle heart applied his healing art to stricken creatures equally with love and care for men in need. The hunted hares hid in his hut. He freed all trapped creatures. He sought frozen, helpless animals, hiding and lost in winter cold, to aid them. Compassion is the watchword of St Francis. The firemen fought to save property. Firemen save lives. This is dedicated, dangerous work. The gentle firemen are true to the tradition of compassion for all life shared by many great; souls in the past and spreading greatly in some lands to-! day to defeat the tides of i greedy materialism Rabin-; dranath Tagore, Thoreau,!
