“Hippies’ Republic”
(N.Z.P.A -Reuter—Copyright) SAN JOSE (Costa Rica), DECEMBER 17. About 1000 hippies from several countries have set up a “hippie republic” in San Jose, the newspaper “La Hora” reports. It says it was started by about 70 hippies from abroad who had recruited Costa Rican boys and girls in the last three months, inviting them to live in a world without frontiers and without laws. The nucleus of the “republic” included youth from North and Latin America, Mexico and Britain, the newspaper says.
