FILMING AT WINGATUI
“The Press” Special Service DUNEDIN. It is expected that the filming of races at Wingatui will take place on Saturday when the Dunedin Jockey Club holds its cup meeting. The 65ft tower and camera room are on the left side of the sod wall. From the tower the whole course can be filmed, especially the home straight and the turnout of the straight. There is a monitor in the camera cabin and the operator can view what he is filming. There is also a link with the course announcer. The cost of the tower and camera cabin was $lOOO and the equipment is worth $5OOO. Arrangements have been made for the equipment to be available for other racing and trotting clubs in Otago as soon as towers have been built. The Beaumont Racing Club will have race filming for its next meeting in March.
