Support For Pope Paul
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) PARIS, Dec. 17. j Fifteen of France’s leading! Roman Catholic laymen, including the writer. Francois Mauriac, and a former Minister of Justice, Mr Edmond Michele, have written to Pope Paul supporting his stand on birth control and other issues. “We want to express our : gratitude for your profession of faith, as well as for all the teachings through which you have affirmed the principles of Roman Catholic faith and discipline,” their letter said. “Catholicism’s effort of renovation is being compromised by a tiny minority of agitators, priests and laymen who think thej- can dictate to the Church and cast trouble and doubt everywhere.” ■
