4¼ Hours Of Softball
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. A softball match believed to be the longest game played in New Zealand took place on Saturday between Eden-Roskill and United in the Auckland competition. Six-all at the sixth innings, it was not until the twenty-sixth innings that Eden-Roskill was able to score the winning run to defeat United, 7-6. The endurance test began at noon and finished four hours and a quarter later. A normal game of softball lasts about one hour and a half.
