In each instance University won the toss and elected to bat, and the two teams each made 335, the senior grade team after the last batsman was dismissed only 10 players batted as another was absent, and the senior reserve team for the loss of seven wickets before declaring. Each of the two Albion teams scored 68 runs before play ended for the day, the senior team for the loss of two wickets and the other for the loss of four.
