Monowai ll v Christchurch West 1 Monowai fielded with precision throughout the game and had only two errors registered against it. Strong batting and controlled pitching by B. After two runs had been scored in the first innings through a mixture of good batting and poor fielding, J. Lee, M. Eaton. C. Brown and Makinson hit well to add another four in the second innings and put the result beyond doubt. Fine drives by Lee, J. Moher and Eaton and another safe hit by Makinson brought in a further three runs in the next innings and L. Byatt highlighted the fourth innings with a powerful home run. Christchurch West’s only run was scored in the first innings when I. Jones hit safely and came home on a sacrifice hit by K. Noonan. J. Patterson scored the only other safe hit in the third innings.
