Applications from persons graduating this year will be considered. The salary range is $2BlO-3040 p.a. and limited assistance may be provided towards fares. 1— PLANT PHYSIOLOGY/BIOCHEMISTRY. Applicants should be graduates in Science or Agriculture preferably with experience in chromatography. The appointment will be from midFebruary to the end of 1969 initially. The appointee will w’ork on the effects of water stress on metabolic processes and cell permeability, a project being supported "by the Nuffield Foundation. 2 CLIMATOLOGY. Applicants should be graduates in Science (Statistics, Mathematics. Meteorology, Geography) or Agricultural Science. Computer experience is desirable though not essential, but applicants should have a strong inclination for this type of work. The appointment will be for one year initially with prospects of continuation thereafter. The appointee will assist the agro-climatologist of the Department with the development of crop response models and the evaluation of meteorological data from such models to assess variation in cereal yield in Western Australia. This is a new development in the Department and the work is being supported by the Rural Credits Development Fund. The Warden’ will be responsible to the vice-chancellor through the general committee of the sports union for the administration and control of the affairs of the sports union. The organisation embraces the administration of university sport and recreation, . the management of over twenty clubs, the control and supervision of a comprehensive in-door-sports centre and the university playing fields. Responsibilities will include future planning full financial accountability and control of an adequate establishment of supporting staff. The salary range is $A5400 x $A27O—$A7O2O x $A2BO—$A73OO or $A7600 x $A23O—$AB75O. The commencing salary and the range will be determined according to qualifications and experience. Other conditions include provision for travel and removal expenses, superannuation, assistance in buying or building a home and study leave.
