Sponsor For New Yacht

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) AUCKLAND.

The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron will sponsor the new Olympic class yacht, the Soling, provided currency problems can be overcome. The Soling is a 26ft fibreglass keel boat for a threeman crew recently approved as the replacement for the Olympic 5.5-metre class. It was designed by a Norwegian, Mr J. Linge. The currency problems include the transfer of funds to purchase a Soling mould and the transfer of royalty to Linge for every Soling built. It is understood a mould would cost several thousand dollars while the royalties would be about $l5O a boat. The squadron’s commodore. Mr B. Marler, yesterday was confident these difficulties can be overcome.
