The Viet Cong’s chief peace delegate opened the door today for any South Vietnamese leader even President Nguyen Van Thieu or Vice-President Nguyen Cao Ky—to join the struggle for “national liberation,” the Associated Press reported. Mrs Nguyen Thi Binh said the Viet Cong's National Liberation Front, expects to participate in any ultimate coalition Government of “Democratic National Union” in South Vietnam.
The attractive, 41-year-old woman revolutionary explained in an exclusive interview that her movement is prepared to work with men like Thieu, Ky and the Prime Minister Tran Van Huong if they' make amends for what she called their “crimes against the South Vietnamese people.” The United States and South Vietnamese are reported preparing to propose a round table split in half for the Paris peace talks, but a Hanoi spokesman said no matter what the shape, the table must be four-sided. The chief United States negotiator, Mr W. Averell Harriman and the Vice-Pre-sident Nguyen Cao Ky met for 90 minutes yesterday and were said to have agreed on a new offer to Hanoi’s representatives.
