I UNIVERSITY VACANCIES ) THE UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY | POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW I IN MEAT SCIENCE ) A vacancy exists for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Meat Science ■at the M.C. Franklin Laboratory of the University of Sydney situated at Sydney University Farms, Camden, N.S.W. The successful appointee will be expected to prosecute a research programme in Meat Science in a field of his choice, but preferably covering one or more of the following fields: 1. Conversion of muscle to meat. 2. Chemical and biochemical constitution of muscle. 3. The storage and preservation of meat, and 4. The eating quality of meat. He will be expected to give an undergraduate course in Meat Science for both final year Veterinary Science students and Agricultural Science (Animal Husbandry) students. In addition, it is hoped that he will be involved in the training of postgraduate workers in the field of Meat Science for higher degrees, including Ph.D. The initial appointment will be for a three-year period with some prospect of renewal annually. The successful appointee must hold a Ph.D. degree in which he has majored in some aspect of Meat Science. Depending on qualifications and experience, the appointment will be made within the range $5600 to $7OOO per annum.
