The position offers excellent scope for a vounger economist wishing to be engaged in activities involving applied economics, economic statistics, econometric techniques, and the use of computer programmes. The person appointed will be expected to act as ASSISTANT EDITOR to “THE AUSTRALIAN ECONOMIC REVIEW’’ and will also have an opportunity to undertake research into aspects of the Australian economy using the Institute’s data bank of economic statistics. The School of Physics has at present six departments concerned with the fields of electronic computing, optical astronomy, radio-astronomy, plasma physics, theoretical physics, and cosmic ray physics. Applicants with the necessary qualifications and interests in the study of physics of the earth and the earth’s environment using the latest technological advances, such as artificial earth satellites, rockets, etc., are invited to apply.
