SUTHERLAND GRANTS
A grant of $5OO towards fruntehlngs for the Rochester hall of residence ait the University of Canterbury has been made by the Sutherland Self Help Trust Board. The ball committee is one of 88 charitable, medical, and educational organisations, and organisations catering for the needs of youth and the aged, to benefit from the trust this year. Giants of $lOOO or more were announced in a Press Association report on November 4.
Granta of $5OO have been made to the Disturbed Children’s Aid Movement, Christchurch, the Ngawbatu Hospital chapel appeal. Nelson, the combined scout hall committoe, Westport, and the Westport Community Hall fund. Giants of $2OO have been made to the Boys’ Brigade,
Christchurch, for camp site ameoMes, to the SumnerRedcliffe sub-branch of the Navy League, and to the Blaketown Giri Guides, Greymouth.'
