Attendance At Races
Sir, —There are 369,500 people in Canterbury. Over 50,000 go to a big football match, over 20,000 go to a small football match, and only a paltry 7000-odd go to Addington. Would the main reason be poor drinking facilities, insufficient toilets, or the way the horses are whipped? —Yours, etc., I WONDER WHY. September 6, 1968.
[The secretary of the Metropolitan Trotting Club (Mr D. C. Parker) declined to comment.]
