9 Trophies To Chch Teams
Nine trophies in the 13 grades were won by Christchurch teams at the Geraldine Sport Association’s annual seven-a-side tournament In addition, Lyttelton won the Croquet Trophy for the club gaining the most wins. University B won the senior grade from 11 other teams when it beat Geraldine, 6-0, in the final. The other grades were won by Wigram A (senior reserve), Belfast (third grade), Waitaki Boys’ High School (fourth), Zingari (fifth), Geraldine (sixth), Lyttelton (seventh and thirteenth), Waimate (eighth), Christchurch A (ninth), Albion (tenth). Suburbs A (eleventh) and Linwood (twelfth).
Britain Leads.— Britain’s Lady Helmsman won the third match of the nine-race international Catamaran trophy series at Thorpe Bay, Essex, yesterday, to take a two-one lead over the American challenger, Yankee Flyer.
