Pinned To Road

Mr W. G. Mundy, of 130 Aorangi Road, Bryndwr, a middle-aged cyclist, had a narrow escape in a collision with an articulated truck yesterday. At the corner of Carlyle and Colombo Streets, about 8.15 a.m., a wheel of the truck caught the back of Mr Mundy’s bicycle and crushed it. Mr Mundy was thrown forward and the truck was braked to a stop with the wheel that had run over the bicycle pinning Mr Mundy to the road.

Suffering from a hip injury. Mr Mundy was taken to the Christchurch Hospital in a St John ambulance. His condition last evening was reported to be satisfactory.
