Pillion Rider Killed

A pillion passenger on a motor-cycle was killed and the driver seriously injured in an accident on the Kaniere-Hokitika Highway at 1.45 a.m. yesterday. The dead youth was

Gary Robert Campion, aged ’IS. son of Mr and Mrs R. J. Campion, of 297 Revell Street, Hokitika.

The iniured youth, who is in the Westland Hospital, is Kevin John Schroeder, aged 17, son of Mr and Mrs K. D. Schroeder, of 139 Bealey Street, Hokitika. He has severe head and leg injuries and his condition is renorted to be serious.

The motor-cycle ran into a ditch. WOMAN DIES A woman died when two cars collided in Beach Road, Brown’s Bay, Auckland, at 7 p.m. on Saturday, the Press Association reports. She was Muriel Johnston, aged 65. married, of 25 Arran Road, Brown’s Bay. Her husband William Johnston, suffered head, chest and leg injuries and is in satisfactory condition in North Shore Hospital.
