150,000 Ford Escorts
Since the model was introduced eight months ago 150,000 Ford Escorts have been produced, the Ford Motor Company has announced. The car is already among the best-selling British models in several countries, and exports amount to 60 per cent,of current production. The Escorts have also had an unusual impact in motor
sport, and so far have won six international rallies outright from seven starts. The Australian driver Frank Gardner is at present leading his class in the European saloon car championship with an Escort Twin Cam. Although about 1000 Escorts are being made each day, only five of them are Twin Cam models.
