ARREST OF DORY

Others Ordered Away

(N.Z. Press Association)

WELLINGTON, August 29. A Japanese fishing dory was arrested this morning by a Naval fisheries protection patrol vessel for fishing within three miles of Sugar Loaf Rock, north of the Bay of Islands.

In a separate incident five Japanese dories from another mother ship were found fishing within five miles of Great Barrier Island and were ordered away by another unit of the fisheries protection patrol. The Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) said in a statement today that the dory arrested —one of six discovered fishing within six miles of Sugar Loaf Rock—had been taken to Mangonui.
