THE 11,500-TON REFRIGERATED CARGO LINER MANAPOURI at the Mitsui shipyard in Tamano, Japan. She is the second of two 20-knot ships built for the New Zealand Shipping Company, Ltd, and was formally delivered last Wednesday. The Manapouri will end her maiden voyage at New Plymouth, where she is expected to arrive on September 16 and where she will begin loading a cargo of cheese, butter, and meat for the United Kingdom. The other loading ports in New Zealand are Timaru and Bluff. The Mataura, a sister ship to the Manapouri, was delivered last May and is now in service.
