GARAGE FIRE
Fire severely damaged the interior and contents of a concrete block garage at the home of Mrs W. H. Kirk, 12 Harris Crescent, Papanui, at 3 p.m. on Wednesday. A motor mower was among the tools damaged. Firemen from Harewood and St Albans stations put out the blaze.
More Revenue.— Gate takings on the 12-match 1988 French Rugby tour of New Zealand were *6OOO up on the 13-match 1961 tour by France. The gross gate for the 12 matches was *373,650.
