WANGANUI TRIP
“The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND.
The stablemates, Superior Star and Honey Belle, are due to leave this morning for Wanganui where they will resume racing on the first day of the Wanganui spring meeting on Saturday. Three-year-olds in I. J. Tucker's stable at Takanini, Superior Star and Honey Belle have been kept from racing before this by heavy tracks. They looked well forward when they led their stablemate, Star Belle, in strong work at the Takanini barrier trials yesterday. Honey Belle was specially impressive, with an edge on Superior Star after running six furlongs in Imin 16 4-ssec.. Star Belle, which had begun from the mile, followed three or four lengths behind. Honey Belle was one of- the best two-year-olds last season and her prospects for a successful three-year-old season look bright. Messene, a Takanini acceptor for the Newman Handicap at Wanganui, is also due to travel south today.
