Junior Boxers Selected

Five boys have been selected to represent Canterbury at the New Zealand junior amateur boxing championships, to be held at New Plymouth on Friday and Saturday.

The team Is:—Sst 51b to sst 101 b, D. Wilson (Woolston Working Men’s Club); Sst 101 b to Ost 111 b, K. Pyne (Crichton Cobbers Club); Ost 111 b to 7st 21b. W. Beecroft (Woolston W.M.C.): 7st 21b to 7st 71b J. Mitchell (Woolston W.M.C.); 7st 71b to 7st 121 b, E. Briggs (Woolston W.M.C.). Mr R. Mitchell, of the Woolston W.M.C., is the trainer who will accompany the team.

Hospital Expansion. —An extra 306 beds will become available in Auckland Hospital next year with the completion of the new main building. By 1972 the hospital will have 1222 beds.—(P.A.)
