Cafeteria
Sir,—After a most pleasant holiday in your beautiful city recently, I was most disturbed when, upon a short visit to the cafeteria at the airport, I was greeted on all sides by dirty tables, crumb-covered chairs, and overflowing ashtrays. I doubt if the floor had been swept for several hours. What a disgrace in such an attractive building! A large percentage of your readers will have travelled .by air and seen the terrible airport terminal building th Wellington, but at least their cafeteria is clean. Why, t)teh, when Christchureh has such a delightful entry to Its city, does it allow slovenliness in the terminal building itself to leave such a bad impression on the many hundreds of visitors who pass through every day?—Yours, etc., C’MON CHRISTCHURCH.
August 8, 1968. [The airport manager (Mr A. I. R. Jamieson) replies: “Constructive criticism is always welcome, and I am grateful to the correspondent for his interest In eUr day-to-day problems.”] ’ j
