(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The image of New Zealand cycling in Australia is higher now than ever before, said Mr C. J. Hollows, the manager of the national road team which returned to Auckland last evening after a three-week tour of Australia.
“The fact that we kept levelheaded when things were not quite right gained us a lot of admiration, and has assured New Zealand of an invitation to return next year,” he said. ‘‘ln finishing third in the Tour of Tasmania, and second in the 140-mile Grafton to Inverell race, the captain of the team, D. Browne, of Palmerston North, proved he is capable of holding a place in international competition.”
