Cycling Tour Successful

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The image of New Zealand cycling in Australia is higher now than ever before, said Mr C. J. Hollows, the manager of the national road team which returned to Auckland last evening after a three-week tour of Australia.

“The fact that we kept levelheaded when things were not quite right gained us a lot of admiration, and has assured New Zealand of an invitation to return next year,” he said. ‘‘ln finishing third in the Tour of Tasmania, and second in the 140-mile Grafton to Inverell race, the captain of the team, D. Browne, of Palmerston North, proved he is capable of holding a place in international competition.”

Umbrella Stand.—The Bank of New South Wales has installed a stand in its banking chamber containing a number of umbrellas for the use of customers should the need arise. The bank believes this service is the first for a trading bank in New Zealand.
