Big Crowd Expected
(N.Z. Press Association) NAPIER. The attendance at the Ranfurly Shield Rugby match between Hawke’s Bay and Marlborough at Napier on Saturday could set a record for the ground. On Monday the demand for seats through preferential bookings had exceeded that for any other match this season—including the French match, the secretary of the Hawke’s Bay union (Mr R. G. Harris) said. The attendance at the French match on July 20 was 24.959. The ground record is 25 580. set at the Hawke’s Bay-Wellington shield match at the end of last season.
