SHEARING RECORDS

WELLINGTON, Aug. 19.
Shearing records will become official as a result of a meeting in Wellington today of representatives of the Golden Shears Society, Federated Farmers, the Wool Board, shearers and judges.
It has been decided to accept solo records and records by teams of two to 10 shearers on adult sheep or lambs.
A committee will meet once a year to ratify records submitted to it Before any record attempt, judges will be appointed to inspect the sheep and the standard of workmanship.
The Golden Shears Society will be responsible for the distribution of rules and the organisation of record attempts.
