Hampshire Collapses Against Australia

SOUTHAMPTON. Australia lost a quick wicket at the end of the day in its chase to overhaul Hampshire’s 250, after the county at one stage had been 212 for four, at the Southampton county ground today.
The 44-year-old D. Shackleton, playing his last match for Hampshire, trapped L. Joslin lbw for 1. The Australians at stumps had made 10 for one wicket after dismissing Hampshire for 250Hampshire’s West Indian
captain, R. Marshall, scored a splendid 95, which included 12 boundaries.
Hampshire was well placed at 212 for four after the Australian captain, W. M. Lawry, had sent the county in Io bat on a slightly damp pitch.
