Water Polo Function
Christchurch has the best organised and most Interesting water polo competition in New Zealand, according to the chairman of the national board. Mr P. MacFarlane, who was guest at a function held last evening by the Canterbury Water Polo Board. He is moving to Auckland later this month.
Mr MacFarlane made a plea for continued interest from retired players tn the admlnistra Hve fields, and said that the potential which he had observed during his three years as selector and coach of the Canterbury team assured the province of a bright future in water polo.
In reply, Mr R. W. Henry, chairman of the Canterbury board, said that plavers and fellow administrators alike were verv grateful for Mr MacFarlane’s efforts, the success of which were borne out by the outstanding wins achieved by the young Canterbury team during his period as coach.
