Chairman Retiring

The chairman of the New Zealand Rugby Union, Mr T. C. Morrison, yesterday announced his retirement from national Rugby administration.
Mr Morrison has been chairman of the union for the last seven years and an executive member for 23 years.
In an interview last evening Mr Morrison, aged 55. said he would officially retire at the annual meeting of the New Zealand union next March. . He said he would not be a candidate for the manager's position with the All Blacks in South Africa in 1970. Mr Morrison, who was chairman of the All Black selectors for seven seasons, from 1950, said he considered as an administrator the 1956 series win over South Africa was his greatest thrill.
[ “As a player, however, the I real highlight was being selected as an All Black in 1938," he said. Mr Morrison represented South Canterbury from 1931 to 1939 and Wellington from 1944 to 1947. He played for the South Island in the 1937-1938-1939 seasons and for the North Island in 1944 and 1945. He played in all three tests of the 1938 series in Australia.
